Senior Citizens Discount

Pursuant to Republic Act 9994 otherwise known as the “Expanded Senior Citizens Act 2010”, the Bacolod City Water District has implemented the grant of discount privilege to the elderly or senior citizens on their water consumption, effective August 2010.

Senior Citizens Discount

I Individual Household

The senior citizen or his/her duly authorized representative, must register at the BACIWA Customer Service Section to avail of the 5% privilege discount.

Requirements:

Birth Certificate and/or OSCA I.D./or any Valid id with birthdate( proof of age)
BACIWA Statement of Account or Official Receipt (proof of billing)
Authorization Letter (if applying through a representative)
Valid I.D. (of representative)

Terms and Conditions in the grant of 5% Privilege Discount:

1. A 5% discount will be granted on the current billing of the registered senior citizen.
2. The registered senior citizen must be a resident of the household.
3. Monthly consumption should not exceed 30 cubic meters.
4. The privilege is granted per residential household regardless of the number of Senior Citizens living therein.
5. Meter registration should be in the name of the registered Senior Citizen for a period of one (1) year.
6. Annual renewal of application is required.

II DSWD-accredited Senior Citizen Centers and Residential Care Institutions or Group Homes

DSWD-accredited Senior Citizens Centers and Residential Care Institutions or Group Homes must register at the BACIWA Customer Service Section to avail of the 50% privilege discount.

Requirements:

1. I.D. of authorized representative
2. BACIWA Statement of Account or Official Receipt
3. Community Tax or Barangay Certificate of authorized representative
4. Authorization Letter of representative
5. Proof of continuous six-month operation (Certification from DSWD)

Terms and Conditions in the grant of 5% Privilege Discount:

1. The Senior Citizen Centers, Residential Care Institutions and Group Homes must be in operation for at least six (6) months.
2. Must have a separate water meter.
3. The 5% prompt payment discount will be computed after the deduction of the 50% privilege discount.
4. Application for the 50% privilege discount is renewable every year.
5. Accreditation from Department of Social Welfare and Development.
